DAWSCON draws top speakers on software development and record attendance

Venkat Subramaniam (pictured at Dawson) was the rock star speaker at the fourth annual DAWSCON conference, according to organizer Ken Fogel of Computer Science. The fourth annual software conference took place Jan. 10 at 成人黑料 and drew a record audience of 300 participants from industry and academia. A news piece will be posted soon with more news from the successful conference.

The video showcases initiatives by students, faculty and staff that are inspiring elementary schools, high schools and other institutes of higher education to also take action. Andrew Katz’s Book Nominated for Le Prix Peuplier

From now until May, about 30,000 kids in schools across Ontario will read all 10 of the French picture books nominated for Le Prix Peuplier. One of those books is the French version of How to Catch a Bear Who Loves to Read by Dawson teacher Andrew Katz and Juliana L茅veill茅-Trudel. The nominees are kid-picked, and the eventual winner will be as well. Congrats Andrew and good luck!

Dawson students participating in the S.P.A.C.E.听(Sciences Participating with Arts and Culture in Education)听student enrichment initiative presented their winning McGill Physics Hackathon projects at听a听Montreal Planetarium听gala听Nov. 18.听Dawson teams placed听2nd听and听3rd听out of 42 teams that competed in the hackathon that took place at MILA November听2-3.听
