About 1,800 students at Welcome Days

On Aug. 16-17, an estimated 1,800 new students participated in Welcome Days. This year, the dean鈥檚 welcome for the three broad areas of study took place in the Tony Proudfoot Gym.听 The experience also included orientation sessions with program and profile coordinators, booths about various services at the College, self-guided tours and free ice cream outdoors.
鈥淭hank you to everyone who was involved in the planning and implementation of Welcome Days! Your time and effort was very much appreciated,鈥 said organizer Caroline Blouin, Coordinator of Student Services.
Celebrating 10 years of the Dawson Active Learning Community June 2 at special 5 脿 7

The 10th anniversary of the Dawson Active Learning Community will be celebrated at the SALTISE Conference. The Honourable Marc Garneau will be awarding the DALC with a community prize. Special guest, 成人黑料鈥檚 Former Direct General, Richard Fillion will also be in attendance.
The community prize will be awarded at the cocktail (5 脿 7 event) on Thursday, June 2 in room 5B.16.
Mugs, cookies and lemonade in celebration of Dawson’s new branding

On Wednesday, June 1, all Dawson employees were invited to drop by the 4A-B hallway to receive free pink lemonade, cookies, and a brand new Dawson mug to celebrate the college's new branding.
Thank you to all who came by, the giveaway was a great success!
Those who haven't had the chance to collect their mug may schedule a pickup at the Communications Office by contacting sricci@dawsoncollege.qc.ca before June 20.

Plans for Orange Shirt Day leading up to Sept. 30

This fall, Dawson will host several events leading up to, and in observance of Sept. 30, Orange T-Shirt Day-National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
A dedicated team of students, faculty, professionals, and support staff, in consultation with Indigenous advisors, will organize these events with the goal of providing learning opportunities and raising awareness about decolonization and the importance of this day.
Support (resources, ideas, suggestions for speakers) is available for faculty who would like to include the theme of residential schools, the Truth and Reconciliation Report, or other decolonization topics in their course.听
