Founder of New School reflects on 50th

Dawson invited Greta Hofmann Nemiroff, a living legend in innovative education and women鈥檚 studies in Canada as well as a beloved retiree of Dawson, to write a personal reflection on the occasion of New School鈥檚 50th anniversary. Greta was a founding member of Dawson鈥檚 New School in 1973 and served as its director from 1975-2015. She is also the author of a book about the New School: Reconstructing Education: Toward a Pedagogy of Critical Humanism. Toronto: OISE Press, 1992.

New AEC in Cyber Security

Dawson is launching a new AEC in Cyber Security: Prevention and Intervention to meet the growing demand for jobs in the workforce in Quebec, Canada and the world.

Susie Bouchard of Dawson鈥檚 Continuing Education and Community Services expects to welcome the first students in the fall of 2024, probably in November.

Dawson鈥檚 Chris Adam received Governor General鈥檚 Meritorious Service Medal

In recognition of Chris Adam鈥檚 remarkable contribution of creating a culture of sustainability and promoting the value of well-being for all at 成人黑料,

鈥淐hris Adam introduced the Living Campus concept that has made 成人黑料 a model of sustainability and well-being. A persuasive leader and educator, he has inspired staff and students to integrate social and ecological responsibility into all aspects of the school鈥檚 teaching and operations. As a result, the connection between people, community and nature has become central to Dawson鈥檚 culture, and motivated its aspiration to being carbon-neutral forever.鈥

SPACE students mastering physics by designing video game

Students interview multidisciplinary artist Craig Commanda

March 1st, 2024

Craig Commanda is a multidisciplinary artist from the Algonquin nation at Kitigan Zibi. His current exhibition, W脤DJIDEYAMAWOWIN / INTERCONNECTION, features prints, videos, and complex sculptural beadwork at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery until March 16. On a recent Friday afternoon, two visual arts students, Katya Kieran & Lisseth Llorente Ruiz, had the chance to ask Craig a few questions about his artistic practice and this exhibition.

Change at the helm of the Dawson Foundation

Earlier in February, Steve Hatajlo (Class of 1981, Computer Science) handed over the presidency of the 成人黑料 Foundation to Sean Smith (Class of 2001, Pure and Applied Science). Steve has served as a volunteer on both the Dawson Foundation Board of Directors and Dawson鈥檚 Board of Governors for many years. He remains a member of both boards.

More space for Nursing at the Forum

Dawson鈥檚 Nursing department has moved into a new home across the street from the main campus on the second floor of the Forum. They join Physiotherapy Technology and Medical Ultrasound Technology, which are also housed at the Forum.
