Noella Dorothy Beersa (Liberal Arts), Wynter Bryant (Arts and Culture), El茅onore Martin-Menga (AEC in Commercial Photography) and Judy Phuong Trinh Le (Pure & Applied Science) are the first four recipients of the new 成人黑料 Perseverance Award.
This award is funded through the Student Academic Enrichment Fund and is intended to encourage Dawson students from all programs and sectors to continue in their studies.

Meet the first recipients of the Mahsa Amini Scholarship

Tara Balador and Chloe Jung are the first two recipients of the new Mahsa Amini Scholarship, which was presented by Candice Zhong of the Dawson Student Union at the Fall Awards Night Nov. 30. The Mahsa Amini Scholarship aims to help international and refugee students at Dawson who are affected by conflict and in need of financial aid.
鈥淏eing honoured with this award presented a significant chance for me,鈥 said Tara, a student in Pure & Applied Science, in an interview with the Communications Office. 鈥淎s an international student, it helped me to pay my college tuition fees. Moreover, it instilled confidence in me and conveyed a sense of importance, indicating that the college values and supports me in the challenges I face as an international student.鈥

Dawson is presenting the Canadian premiere of Leopoldstadt

Sir Tom Stoppard鈥檚 play Leopoldstadt will have its Canadian premiere at the 成人黑料 Theatre on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Directed by Matt Holland, the play features the 2024 graduating class of Dawson鈥檚 Professional Theatre program.
鈥淭his is a wonderful opportunity for our students because Sir Tom Stoppard is a renowned, award-winning British playwright with a 60-year career in theatre,鈥 said Professional Theatre faculty member Leah Esau.聽 鈥淗e is best known for his screenplay Shakespeare in Love (1998), as well as his plays Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and Travesties.鈥

DC Model UN delegates “gaveled” and received honourable mentions at SSUNS

The 成人黑料 Model UN (DCMUN) team had a great experience at the Secondary Schools鈥 United Nations Symposium (SSUNS) conference hosted by McGill University Nov. 9-12.
"Gaveling" is the highest award in the Model UN world and three Dawson students "gaveled" and others received honourable mentions.

Industrial Design students win provincial design competition

Four Dawson students in the Industrial Design Program won first place in the provincial competition for college students across Quebec held Nov. 10-11-12 at Universit茅 de Montr茅al.

Two new awards to be presented at Fall Awards Night

成人黑料 is holding our annual Fall Awards Night on Nov. 30.
鈥淲e will celebrate our students who are committed, perseverant, hard-working, caring and kind,鈥 said Academic Dean Leanne Bennett. 鈥淭he achievement of our students is our collective achievement- the ultimate result of the dedication of our teachers, support staff, professionals and managers and is, of course, shared with our students鈥 parents, activity leaders and coaches.鈥

Great year for the Dawson Foundation

Twenty projects to benefit students received funding in 2023 thanks to new funding available from the Dawson Foundation.
The new Student Academic Enrichment Fund (SAEF) received applications and provided funding for projects in the winter and fall 2023 semesters. Several projects would never have taken place without the new SAEF.

Interview with Bahar Taheri 鈥 Oneness

Bahar Taheri is an Iranian-Canadian visual artist and a faculty member of the Fine Arts Department here at 成人黑料. Her current exhibition,聽Oneness, features paintings, a video projection with a musical composition, and complex digital prints at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery until Dec. 2. On a recent Thursday evening, a visual arts student, Katya Kieran had the chance to ask Bahar a few questions.

Canadore College and 成人黑料 to collaborate on Sustainable Happiness

Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario, and 成人黑料 will be working together to improve the overall well-being of our respective campuses and communities. The two institutions recently signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on advancing a Sustainable Happiness Certificate.
