Intercollegiate Ped Days are Jan. 13-14 online

Intercollegiate Ped Days will take place online Monday and Tuesday, January 13 & 14, 2025. The theme for IPD 2025 is Learning for Life: Building Competencies in and Beyond the Classroom
Participants can enjoy a rich program featuring presenters from across the English-language CEGEP network, including a keynote address by John-Tyler Binfet (UBC) on Considering Kindness in Higher Ed: Connections and Complexities simultaneous translation in French will be offered.)
All faculty members and professionals will receive an email in mid-December from Azra Khan (Office of Academic Development) with a link to register for the sessions that interest them.

The Performa program encourages continuous learning directly relevant to teaching and professional roles in the college network.

The courses are held on-line and in blended learning format.

Reminder: Ped Day is Friday, Oct. 11

All faculty and professional staff are warmly invited to come to the Dawson Pedagogical Day on Friday, Oct. 11. Even if you did not register already, you are welcome to attend. The catering orders have already been placed so those who missed the registration deadline cannot have lunch but are welcome to the sessions.
The keynote presentation by Eliana El Khoury, pictured, will start at 9 AM. Her presentation will be about enhancing student assessments to better focus on learning and support. This talk will explore the importance of appropriate assessments and introduce alternative and authentic methods in a variety of disciplines.
Workshops on a variety of topics will be given at 10:30 AM and 1:45 PM.

Wednesday, June 19 will be the annual Support Staff Training Day event. The plenary speaker is Chris Adam, who will bring his unique style of team and leadership training to explore concepts of well-being for all at Dawson.
Bring your curiosity and be open to movement, because this year the program features physical activity, tours and outdoor activities, as well as practical desk based skills. We look forward to meeting participants for this event.

Don鈥檛 miss the special sessions that dive into the impact of AI on education and the roundtable discussions about transitioning to teaching in French.
This year鈥檚 conference will launch the start of a special category: a poster session showcasing research conducted by college-level students. This session aims to provide college students (and their instructors) a venue to engage in an authentic experience of sharing the results of their course research projects.
