Dawson鈥檚 Well-Being for All Initiative

Share

Starting October 1, 2024, all support staff, professionals and managers can use up to four hours of work time every month for well-being and building community. This is part of the College鈥檚 commitment to our core value of well-being for all. Faculty members are, of course, welcome to participate in any activity that takes place outside their teaching responsibilities.

In general, it could be said that well-being activities bring colleagues together and promote community. These activities could also include some of the following elements:

  • feature physical exercise
  • help us connect with colleagues
  • help us connect to Nature

Some examples include:

  • participating in a free Campus Recreation activity (limited space; first come, first served)
  • attending presentations organized by programs and departments
  • participating in Sustainable Dawson activities
  • volunteering for Dawson Dinin鈥 or Early Bird Breakfast
  • creating/joining any of the groups that will be springing up. Some ideas could be a meditation group, a birdwatching club, or drop-in art activity, playing music

More information will be provided by Human Resources. In the meantime, if you have ideas for a well-being activity, please contact Human Resources. They can provide guidance and support. Email:聽 wellbeing@dawsoncollege.qc.ca

鈥淭he idea is to help colleagues be active and keep learning at work and make connections with members of the Dawson community,鈥 said Director General Diane Gauvin. 鈥淗ealthier employees and a stronger Dawson community will make life better for us all.鈥
