Join the Active Alternative Transportation Working Group

Share

Last week, our first bike workshop of 2024 was attended by employees and students eager to learn about getting their bikes ready for Spring. Adam Kingsland (Faculty, Mechanical Engineering) gave an introduction to proper clothing and basic tools needed to upkeep your bike. Another bike workshop is planned for May, date to be determined.

Students brought in their bikes and Adam taught them how to tune-up them up and guided them as they cleaned their chains and did some simple adjustments.

The Office of Sustainability and Adam will be starting an Active Alternative Transportation Working Group and are still looking for interested students and employees.

“We plan to meet with the group on a monthly basis to discuss future bike workshops, helping people find the best route to and from Dawson. Whether it is a biking or walking route, we want to encourage people to live healthier lives by spending more time outdoors instead of sitting in a car, bus, metro or train to get to work or school,” said Jennifer de Vera (Office of Sustainability).

Those who are interested in joining can fill out this and you will be contacted to confirm the date of the first meeting in April.聽If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact sustainability@dawsoncollege.qc.ca
